Life in the College
Life
at the Air Force Administrative College is largely divided between the classroom
and playground. The activities of an officer trainee are broadly divided into
the following:
- Training
- Extra Curricular Activities
- Recreational Activities
Training
The college curriculum attempts to maintain a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. For this purpose the college boasts of a seasoned faculty- veterans at equipping our officers with the necessary skills for discharging their duties with greater efficiency.
An essential part of the training program is to work toward improving communication skills by way of group discussions and presentations. The college is equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual training aids and sophisticated equipments to impart hands-on training. Guest lectures and extempore talks are also part of the curriculum to help enhance the personality of the officer trainee.
Extra-curricular Activities
Extra
curricular activities are an extension of the learning in classroom sessions at
the College. All individuals are required to undergo physical training
and exercise as part of their course.
A trainee officer in AFAC begins his day with basic physical exercises as well as parade. Regular inter-syndicate matches are organized as part of the fitness program.
Recreational Activities
Officer trainees of the Administrative College are provided with ample facilities
for recreation. There are well-maintained tennis and squash courts, football grounds
and a gymnasium for officers to indulge in their favourite sports.
